VIDEO: Kleefisch Slams Evers for Inaction on Crime, Lays out Public Safety Plan

[Waukesha, WI] – In a video message to her supporters on Tuesday, Rebecca Kleefisch slammed Tony Evers for his lack of action to address crime in Milwaukee and outlined her plan to reduce crime.

Following Kleefisch’s press conference with police addressing rising crime, Tony Evers’ campaign pointed to a $45 million ARPA funding pledge he made in October as evidence that Evers is taking action on crime. But by January 2022, months after his pledge, none of the $45 million was spent. In fact, under the entire “public safety” category of the federal money under Evers’ sole control, Evers had only spent 1%. None of Evers’ funding pledge is earmarked specifically to fund the hiring of more officers to address rising crime.

Wisconsin families can’t afford to wait for Tony Evers to stop paying lip service to rising crime. As governor, Kleefisch will fight for bail reform, recruit 1,000 more cops, and use state patrol for immediate help in high crime areas.
